But the things patients say in the hallway, at their one-week follow-up, or in a phone call to the office weeks later, those tell a different kind of story. A more human one.

Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed procedures in the world. The technique itself typically takes 10 to 15 minutes. The recovery is measured in days, not weeks. But the experience of waking up to clearer vision, of seeing the world without a filter you did not know was there, that is something patients consistently say they were not prepared for.

1. "I Had No Idea How Yellow Everything Had Become"

These are not things I can promise in a pre-operative consultation. Every patient is different. Every eye is different. Results depend on lens selection, ocular health, healing, and a dozen other variables. But after 20,000 surgeries, I can tell you this: the clinical outcome is the floor.
