There is a quiet pressure in ophthalmology around premium lenses. They are good for the practice financially. They are heavily marketed to patients. And patients arrive having already decided, which puts the surgeon in the position of either confirming the decision or having an uncomfortable conversation about why it might not be the best path.
I would rather have the uncomfortable conversation.
